Eric was born with the gift of gastronomy and the weight of an ancient curse—one that has claimed every male ancestor who dared to cook past the age of 22. Determined to save him, his mother Agnes bans him from the kitchen, but no curse or maternal decree can extinguish the fire of Eric’s culinary passion. Sneaking into the Singapore Culinary Academy, Eric embarks on a secret journey, his life unfolding like a fairy tale with unlikely friends, relentless challenges, and a dream of becoming a master chef.

Who or What is Dripdraw Studios?We’re a collective of three artists. We believe in the power of narrative, visual storytelling especially in the comic medium. Essentially Drip Draw produces comic books but we tell them like movies. There’s Evan Yang, brilliant illustrator. There’s Nico Ang, incandescent conceptual artist and Dennis Chong a TV writer/director. Like Voltron, the three hope to form a studio that is larger than the sum of its parts.Larger what?Ideas.Why not build a studio where bold ideas thrive instead of being cast aside by the ‘same but different’ mindset that has inundated the creative world? Our motto to ‘create and elevate’ means something, not some corporate shill but words to actually try to live by. That’s not to say we don’t want to make a profit and be self-sustainable. We’re idealists but we’re also pragmatic about it.Here’s hoping if you are somehow reading this, some part of what’s said here resonates with you…makes you sign up with us, for the short haul, just cause you wanna see how we’ve evolved and maybe, just maybe, surprise you in a good way.Whatcha waiting for? DENNIS CHONG is a storyteller who approaches every project with the precision of a seasoned chef crafting a complex dish. With a background spanning across television, he’s known for bringing narratives to life with the right balance of creativity and flair. Whether he’s developing a TV series or concocting a fantastical graphic novel, Dennis has a knack for blending diverse ingredients - be it action, drama, or whimsical humor - into a narrative feast that delights and surprises. He also has a knack for putting his foot in his mouth and his auditory skills will put you to sleep faster than an ambien.EVAN YANG is an artist born and bred in sunny Singapore, with a decade’s worth of freelance experience under his nonexistent belt (since he wears ‘ezy’ jeans all the time). Evan is responsible for all the art in ‘The Chef’. He is a rarely-seen creature; kinda like a unicorn, and when spotted in public is recognized by his all-black outfit, his beard, grumpy demeanour and wild hair. When found, he’s usually in the midst of wolfing down a plate of ‘Char Kway Teow’. Remnants of which can be found in his beard on occasion.NICO ANG is a conceptual artist of sublime talent who’s taken to illustration like a duck to water. Throughout the 2 year process of getting ‘The Chef’ completed she has consulted, guided, poked, and at times harangued the creators about making the graphic novel better. A force of nature and a dynamo that keeps the rest of us on our creative toes, always. She has helped Evan with the Shading and now works on her own book which can be found at: dripdrawstudios.com.
